TELL A STORY A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ss know how to retell a simple story in English. - Ss improve their listening and pronunciation skills. - Ss learn how to ask and answer questions related to the story. 2. Competences: - Oral Communication: speak about names, ask and answer the questions - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Sociability: Talk to each other, say good words to others. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks. - Honesty: tell the truth about feelings and emotions - Diligence: complete learning tasks B. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Pupil’s book, notebooks, workbooks, school things. C. PROCEDURES: 1. Warm-up (5 minutes) - Objective: Create a classroom atmosphere, familiarize students with the topic of storytelling. - Activity: . Teacher greets students and asks: "Do you like stories?" . Teacher asks: "What is your favorite story?" . Let students listen to a short part of a familiar story in English (for example: "Little Red Riding Hood" or "The Three Little Pigs"). 2. Introduce vocabulary (5 minutes) - Objective: Help students grasp the basic vocabulary in the story. - Activity: . The teacher introduces some important vocabulary in the story (e.g. "wolf", "house", "forest", "girl", "big", "small"). . Use flashcards to illustrate the vocabulary. . Ask students to repeat the vocabulary to practice pronunciation. 3. Tell a story (10 minutes) - Objective: Help students understand the story and practice listening skills. - Activity: . The teacher retells a simple story (e.g. "The Three Little Pigs") in English, using illustrations. . Ask students to listen and answer some simple questions about the story, for example: "Who is the story about?" "What did the pigs build?" "What happened at the end?" (What happened at the end?) 4. Storytelling Practice (10 minutes) - Objective: Students practice retelling a story. - Activity: . Divide students into small groups. . Each group retells a part of the story in English. . Groups may use illustrations or flashcards to support their storytelling. . Teacher listens and corrects pronunciation if necessary. 5. Q&A and Discussion (5 minutes) - Objective: Test students' understanding of the story. - Activity: . Teacher asks students some questions related to the story for students to answer, for example: "Who helped the pigs?" "Where did the wolf go?" "Why is the story funny?" . Encourage students to answer the questions using the vocabulary they have learned. 6. Conclusion (5 minutes) - Objective: Review and conclude the lesson. - Activities: . The teacher summarizes the lesson, reviewing vocabulary and what was learned in the lesson. . Instruct students to retell the story to their families in English at home.
